Online applications are invited from eligible and aspired students for post matric scholarship scheme, who wants to study further in higher education for academic year 2022-23. The Government of Bihar, Education Department provides scholarship for OBC, EBC, SC and ST category whose family income from all source should be up to 3 lakh.
What is Post Matric Scholarship?
State scheme for providing scholarship to meritorious students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes studying in post matric class within the state and outside the state, Establishment and Committed Expenditure and Post Matric Scholarship Scheme under Centrally Sponsored Scheme is operated. Under this scheme, scholarship is given to the students studying in a duly recognized college/ university/ Institute. Under this scheme, funds are provided by the State Government and the Central Government.

Following document valid for 2022 are mandatory for applying for Post Matric Scholarship application:
- Aadhaar Card
- Residential Certificate of Bihar
- Caste Certificate Issued by Competent authority of Govt. of Bihar
- Income Certificate
- Fee Receipt from Institution
- Bonafide Certificate
- Last Exam Passing Certificate [In Case of First Year Last Degree certificate and in case of consecutive years (2nd, 3rd, 4th years etc. Last Degree Passing certificate and course exam passing Marksheet)]
Mode of Distribution of Scholarship
In order to ensure timely payment of scholarship amount to the beneficiaries, the State Government/UT administrations are requested to avoid cash payment of scholarship amount and are required to issue instructions to all concerned that payment of scholarship should be made to beneficiaries through their accounts in post offices/banks. DBT mode should be followed by the States/UTs. Disbursement of Scholarship through Aadhaar seeded bank accounts should be ensured by the States/UTS.
Rate of Post Matric Scholarship For Bihar
In the light of the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, the Backward Classes and Most Backward Classes, Welfare Department, Government of Bihar and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Welfare Department, Government of Bihar issued from time to time in accordance with the parameters prescribed in the resolution. On the basis of scholarship and maintenance allowance will be payable.
