Technician Apprentice Mechanical Three years (or two years through lateral entry after ITI of minimum one year duration/ 10+2) full time Diploma in any of the following disciplines of Engineering from a Govt. recognized institute/ University.

Additionally, candidates should possess Skill Certificate of "Domestic Data Entry Operator" for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognised under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognised by the Central Govt.

Selection Process of Apprentice for IOCL 2024

  1. Selection process would consist of a Written Test.
  2. Written Test shall be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ‟s) consisting of 4 options with one correct option. Candidate has to choose the correct option.
  3. There shall be 100 questions in the Written Test and Total marks shall be 100. Each correct answer shall carry 1 mark.
  4. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  5. The constitution of the Question paper will be as below -:
    1. For Technician Apprentices - From the total 100 objective type questions, about 75 questions shall be from the concerned discipline of Diploma level and about 25 questions on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge etc.
    2. For Trade Apprentice (Accountant) - out of total 100 objective type questions, about 75 questions shall be from general accounts/commerce/finance and about 25 questions on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge etc.
    3. For Trade Apprentice (Assistant-Human Resource) - all 100 objective type questions shall be on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge/awareness etc.
    4. For Data Entry Operator& Domestic Data Entry Operator - all 100 objective type questions shall be on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge/awareness etc. of Class 12 level.
  6. Duration of Written Test shall be of 120 minutes i.e. two hours.
  7. Candidates can opt for the Question Paper/ Test either in English or Hindi language. 8) Minimum qualifying marks in Written Test is 40%. The same is relaxed by 5% to SC/ ST and PwBD candidates for the trades reserved for them.

IOCL Apprenticeship Training Period 2024

  • Technician Apprentice (Elect/ Mech/ T&I) : 12 months
  • Trade Apprentices (Assistant HR/ Accountant) : 12 months
  • Data Entry Operator and Domestic Data Entry Operator : 12 months

Note : Period of Apprenticeship Training may be revised under certain circumstances as provided under the Apprentices Rules 1992.

List of Verification Documents for IOCL Apprentice

Candidates qualified in the Online Test may be called for Online Document Verification on suitable date.The following original documents along with a self attested copy should be furnished at the time of joining at Location:

  1. 10th pass/ Matriculation certificate issued by the concerned education board as proof of date of birth. No other document will be accepted for verification of date of birth.
  2. SC/ ST/ OBC/ Disability/ EWS-Income & Asset certificate by reserved category candidates in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority.
  3. OBC non-creamy layer status should be valid and OBC certificate issued by the Competent Authority should be latest one. Formats of Certificate are available in the Detailed Notification as well as in https://plapps.indianoilpipelines.in/ under downloads section.
  4. Semester-wise / year-wise mark sheets and Certificate of full-time Diploma in Engineering in respective Discipline.
  5. Pre-engagement Medical fitness certificate declaring the candidate medically Fit.
  6. Any other certificate, if applicable.

How to Apply for IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2024

  1. Applications are invited by Indian Oil for Apprentices in Technical and Non – Technical Trade at its locations under its 5 Regions viz. Eastern Region Pipelines (ERPL), Northern Region Pipelines (NRPL), South Eastern Region Pipelines (SERPL), Southern Region Pipelines (SRPL) and Western Region Pipelines (WRPL).
  2. A candidate can apply for apprenticeship in any one of the Refinery unit of his/her choice.
  3. Candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria for a trade/discipline, may visit the website www.iocl.com, go to ‘Indian Oil For You’ > Click on “Indian Oil for Careers” then go to Engagement of Apprentices vide Advertisement No. PL/HR/ESTB/APPR-2023-24 > (to refer to the Advertisement) > Click on “Link for Applicants to register” (to fill online application form). The candidate must have an active email ID and mobile phone number which must remain valid for at least next one year. All future communication with candidate will take place only through website/email/SMS alerts. Applications submitted through on-line mode will only be accepted.
  4. The candidate should have scanned copy of colour photograph and signature in jpg format (size not exceeding 50 KB) ready before applying on-line. The photo and signature in digital form will be required to be uploaded.
  5. The candidate should have the scanned copies of self-attested photocopies of the following documents ready in pdf/ jpg format (not exceeding size of 200kb each).
  6. The candidate must ascertain the correctness of all information before filling in the On-line Application Form and its final submission.
  7. The candidate shall be wholly/exclusively responsible for the information provided in his/her online application form.
  8. Incomplete applications, applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria/parameters and applications received in mode /form other than on-line mode shall be treated as “Rejected”.
  9. A copy of on-line application shall be retained by the candidate for reference and produced for verification at the time of Document Verification.
