About Recruitment

Online applications are invited from the eligible candidates for participating in the selection process for the posts of Reader as mentioned in Annexure-"A" to this Notification who:

Are domiciles of UT of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of S.O. 166 dated 18.05.2020 issued by GAD, Government of Jammu and Kashmir and those who are residents of UT of Ladakh for a period of not less than 15 years before the date of applying and are actually residing in the area.

Mode of Recruitment : By direct recruitment on the basis of a written and viva-voce test as per the criteria! syllabus laid down in Annexure-"B" appended to this Notification.

A) Written Test : There shall be an objective type written test comprising of 85 questions, each question carrying one mark. The duration of the written test shall be of 90 minutes. The written test shall comprise questions on the following subjects:-

  1. Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 : 10 questions;
  2. Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 : 10 questions;
  3. J&K High Court Rules, 1999 : 3 questions;
  4. Writ Proceeding Rules, 1997 : 4 questions;
  5. Letters Patent Rules : 3 questions;
  6. Civil & Criminal Rules for Guidance of Subordinate Courts : 5 questions;
  7. The Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996: 10 questions;
  8. The Limitation Act, 1963 : 10 questions;
  9. The Constitution of India : 10 questions;
  10. The 3&K Reorganization Act, 2019 : 10 questions;
  11. General Knowledge/Current Affairs : 10 questions;
