Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) invites online applications for the recruitment post of Multi-Tasking Staff/ General (MTS/Gen) and Security Assistant/ Executive (SA/Exe) in the following Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux. All eligible and interested Indian Nationals can apply online at MHA IB website www.mha.gov.in from 28th January 2023 onwards for 1675 vacancies of Security Assistant/ Executive and MTS.

Eligibility Criteria for MHA IB Recruitment

Security Assistant/ Executive and MTS/Gen

  1. Matriculation (10th class pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education, and
  2. Possession of domicile certificate of that State against which candidate has applied.
  3. Knowledge of any one of the local language/dialect mentionedin Table ‘A’ above against each SIB.

Selection Process of MHA IB MTS and SA

The selection would be done on merit basis and the vacancies will be allocated to the SIB to which the selected candidates belong to. There will be Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III (Interview/ Personality test) for selection of Multi-Tasking Staff/ General (MTS/Gen) and Security Assistant/ Executive (SA/Exe) in the following Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux.

MHA IB MTS & Security Assistant Syllabus and Exam Pattern

Tier-I* (Common for SA/ Exe & MTS/Gen)

Online Exam of Objective type MCQs, divided into 5 parts containing 20 questions of 1 mark each on:

  1. General Awareness
  2. Quantitative aptitude
  3. Numerical/ analytical/Logical ability & reasoning
  4. English language &
  5. General Studies

[Negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer.]

Tier-II# (Common for SA/ Exe & MTS/ Gen)

Offline Exam of Descriptive type

a) Translation of a passage of 500 words from local language/dialect to English and vice versa

Part of Tier-II (for SA/ Exe only) b) Spoken ability {to be assessed at the time of Tier-III exam (Interview/ Personality test)} 10 -
Tier-III* Interview/ Personality test 50 -

The cut-off marks (out of 100) in Tier-I exam would be UR-35, OBC-34, SC/ ST-33 & EWS-35 (all Exservicemen would be treated in their own category viz., UR/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS).

# The Tier-II exam is qualifying in nature. The qualifying marks in Tier-II is 20 out of 50 for SA/Exe and 16 out of 40 for MTS/Gen.
