RRB ALP CBT 1 Syllabus and Exam Scheme 2025
CBT-1 will only be a screening exam for shortlisting eligible candidates for CBT-2 based on their normalized marks and merit. Screening will be based on their merit in CBT-1 among the candidates who have chosen the same RRB only.
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Number of questions: 75, Maximum marks: 75 (@1 mark per question)
- There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer.
- Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts.
- Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC-30%, ST- 25%.
- The standard of questions for CBT-1 will generally be in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the post. Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus:

- Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
- Mental Ability: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement - Arguments and Assumptions etc.
- General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
- General Awareness: Current affairs, science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subject of importance.
